"I wrote Building the Strategic Finance Operating Model™: The CFO's Blueprint for Value Creation in the Age of AI after more than twenty-five years advising boards, CEOs, CFOs, private equity sponsors, and executive leadership teams through some of their most significant transformations. Across every industry, I observed the same challenge: organizations were being measured against tomorrow's expectations while operating with models designed for yesterday's realities. Artificial intelligence did not create those weaknesses. It exposed them. This book is my response to that reality - a practical blueprint for leaders who must redesign how their organizations think, operate, govern, and create value in the Age of AI. My aspiration is that this work becomes the blueprint executives, consultants, educators, and students rely on to redesign organizations that create enduring value in the Age of AI.
Donald B. Rogers, CPA, MA is an enterprise transformation executive, author, CPA, and executive advisor who helps boards, CEOs, CFOs, private equity sponsors, and leadership teams redesign organizations for sustainable value creation in the Age of AI. Over more than twenty-five years, he has advised organizations ranging from emerging companies to Fortune 500 enterprises, translating strategy into execution through operating model design, finance transformation, digital modernization, and organizational change.
Throughout his career, Don has been recruited to build, lead, and transform consulting practices and executive advisory organizations. He has held senior leadership positions with Ernst & Young, IBM Consulting, RSM US, Deloitte Consulting, and other leading professional services firms, where he developed market-leading advisory capabilities, advised executive leadership teams through complex business transformations, and helped organizations achieve measurable improvements in performance and enterprise value. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Invictus Global Advisors and co-founder of AEGIS Advisory Partners.
His experience spans enterprise strategy, operating model design, finance modernization, mergers and acquisitions, governance, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, organizational change, shared services, and executive leadership. Throughout his career he has advised organizations across insurance, banking and capital markets, asset and wealth management, healthcare, private equity, technology, manufacturing, and other highly regulated industries. His work integrates strategic vision with disciplined execution to strengthen governance, accelerate decision making, and create sustainable enterprise value.
At Ernst & Young, Don helped transform the CFO Advisory practice from a small specialty group into one of EY's premier Strategy & Management Consulting businesses, growing annual revenues from less than $20 million to more than $160 million while expanding the practice to more than 160 consulting professionals. He later held senior partner roles at IBM Consulting and RSM US, where he continued building executive advisory capabilities and leading strategic growth initiatives. Earlier in his career, he served in senior operating leadership positions at Prudential Financial and AllianceBernstein, experiences that continue to shape his practical, execution-focused approach to transformation.
Don is the author of Building the Strategic Finance Operating Model™: The CFO's Blueprint for Value Creation in the Age of AI, which introduces the Strategic Finance Operating Model™ (SFOM™), an integrated framework for redesigning finance organizations as strategic drivers of enterprise performance. His research reflects a central belief that technology alone does not create competitive advantage. Organizations create lasting value by redesigning the operating model that aligns strategy, governance, people, processes, data, technology, and execution. A frequent keynote speaker, executive educator, podcast host, and thought leader, Don presents on enterprise strategy, finance transformation, operating model design, artificial intelligence, executive leadership, and organizational change. He holds a Master of Arts in Change Leadership, specializing in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Iona University, and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York. He also serves on nonprofit and advisory boards supporting financial literacy, youth development, and leadership.
Through Invictus Global Advisors and his publications, Don's mission is to help organizations bridge the gap between strategy and execution. His work focuses on equipping executives with practical frameworks that transform finance from a reporting function into a catalyst for enterprise value creation. His aspiration is for the Strategic Finance Operating Model™ to become the definitive blueprint executives, consultants, educators, and students rely upon to redesign organizations that thrive in the Age of AI.
